Alexander Hahn
Bio
Hailed as "charming" (Opera News) and "commanding" (The Day Connecticut), with a voice that "trembled the foundations of the Warsaw Philharmonic" (Wielkanocny Festival LvB Czasopismo), Alexander Hahn has performed at prestigious venues worldwide. Recent roles include Wotan in Die Walküre (Vegas City Opera), Pietro in Simon Boccanegra (Beethoven Easter Festival, Warsaw), Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro (Bronx Opera), Claudius in Hamlet (Opera Ithaca), Monterone in Rigoletto (Opera Theater of Connecticut), and bass-baritone soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (EOS Orchestra, Beijing). A dedicated advocate of art song, Hahn has performed recitals across North America, including Schubert’s Winterreise at Staller Center and appearances with Constellations Chamber Concerts, Chautauqua Opera, Montreal Vocal Arts Institute, and Fresno State Art Song Festival. He is a nationally recognized lecturer on art song literature, with presentations at the College Music Society, NATS, and numerous universities. A former Paris Opera Competition Grand Finalist, Hahn has received awards from the Schuyler Career Bridges Organization, Giulio Gari Foundation, Heida Hermanns Competition, and Yale School of Music. Dr. Hahn earned a DMA from Stony Brook University, a master’s and Artist Diploma from Yale School of Music (David L. Kasdon Memorial Prize), and a bachelor’s degree from Mannes College of Music.
