Maya Zepeda
Bio
As a composer, Maya Zepeda writes for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, musical theater, and electronics. Her works are a mix of classical tonalities and ideas, as well as modern and contemporary sounds. She is currently a master’s student studying composition and music technology at the University of North Dakota, under Dr. Michael Wittgraf. For the past two years, Maya composed and performed in a new musical workshop put on by the University of North Dakota music department. She has performed her own works for bass clarinet, including at the 2025 College Music Society Great Lakes conference. In addition to traditional composing, Maya is also a songwriter. She has performed her songs for the UND Songwriting Showcases, Composer's Concerts, as well as her own senior recital.
